Box Score NICEVILLE, Fla. - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team held on to beat 24th-ranked Pensacola State 60-56 Friday at the Northwest Florida Tournament.
The Golden Eagles led by as much as 21 three minutes into the second half but had to hold off a Pensacola late rally for the win. CSI never trailed in the game.
Kennedy Gillette, who knocked down two big free throws in the last minute, finished with 15 points.
Ashley Garner added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Kayla Kasubuchi posted seven points, three assists and two rebounds for the Golden Eagles and
Macie Brown had two points, nine rebounds and three assists. Also consistent was
Alina Sapilak, who had five points and five rebounds.
The Golden Eagles out-rebounded Pensacola 45 to 30 but lost the battle of turnovers, committing 23 to just 13 for PSC.
It's CSI's second straight top 25 win and the Golden Eagles now face second-ranked Northwest Florida Saturday at 4 p.m. MT.
