CSI Baseball earns the split on Thursday in Colorado

RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team lost to Colorado Northwestern 5-2, before beating the Spartans 5-4 in 11 innings in game two on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles entered the final regular season of the conference tied with USU Eastern for third in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings. USUE doesn't play their first two games of the weekend until Friday and will take on Southern Nevada.
Knotted at 4 runs apiece of game two going into the 11th inning, CSI pushed across the eventual winning run on a bases loaded walk in the top of the 11th.
That one run was all Stone Cushing needed. The sophomore pitched the final three innings, giving up no runs on one hit with two strikeouts.
Junior Garcia was 3-for-6 and Sammy Richards was 3-for-5 at the plate. Greyson Shafer hit a home run for the Golden Eagles.
In game one, the Golden Eagles couldn't get their offense going, finishing with just six total hits. Eliot Jones, Colby Carter and Cooper Sloan all had doubles. Shafer accounted for both of CSI's runs, hitting a two-run home run.
CSI will take on Colorado Northwestern Friday for the final two games, starting at 11 a.m.
