TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team put it all together Saturday, beating USU Eastern 7-3 and 15-0 on the final home games for the 2023 sophomore class.
In game one,
Brooke Merrill earned the win, going seven innings and giving up two earned runs with five hits and four strikeouts.
At the plate,
Makenzie Evans,
Gracie Tentinger,
Tessa Hokanson and
Markessa Jensen hit home runs. Hokanson ended the game 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Maame Johnson was 1-for-2.
Gracie Walters dominated in the circle for the second straight game, giving up no runs on one hit with nine strikeouts in their five innings.
The Golden Eagles added three more home runs as
Rachael Brown hit one and
Saige Nielsen had two. Hokanson was 3-for-3,
Brylee Bigelow was 2-for-3, Brown was 3-for-4 with six RBI, Nielsen was 3-for-4 with three RBI, Jensen was 2-for-2 and
Kenzee Hale was 2-for-3.
CSI, now 38-16 overall and 24-11 in conference play, travels to Colorado Northwestern next Friday and Saturday.
