TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho Softball's
Brooke Merrill only needed one run to help lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 win in game one and
Gracie Tentinger added two home runs and five RBI in game two to lead CSI to a 13-5 game-two win.
Merrill was one error and one walk away from the perfect game, going all seven innings in the opener.
The Golden Eagles scored their runs behind the hitting of
Rachael Brown and
Brylee Bigelow. Brown was 2-for-2 with three RBI and Bigelow was 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Tentinger was the star of game two as the sophomore belted two home runs to take her season total to 31. To this point in the season, she is now the single season home run leader and now holds the career record for home runs with 58 and RBI with 182 in her two years. The previous record was 175.
Tessa Hokanson also had a solid game, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI.
Indee Jones was 2-for-4 with a home run,
Kenzee Hale was 2-for-4 with two doubles, Bigelow was 2-for-2 with a home run and
Maame Johnson was 1-for-1 with three walks.
CSI, 34-16 overall, hosts USU Eastern Friday and Saturday for the last home regular season games.
