TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Rodeo Team brought home the Rocky Mountain Region Championship with a win Friday and Saturday at the Utah Valley University Rodeo. The Golden Eagle Women's Rodeo Team placed third in the final rodeo and took third in the region.
Eight men and two women have qualified for the College Nationals Final Rodeo June 9-17th in Casper, Wyo.
The Golden Eagles have three Rocky Mountain Region individual event champions.
Sage Allen won the Bareback Riding title,
Tyson Hirschi won the Bull Riding title and
Raegan Steed won the Breakaway Roping Title.Â
Steed and
Shelby Higgins have both qualified for the CNFR. Steed finished second in Barrel Racing.
With their championship, the CSI Men qualified as a team. Eight cowboys will be attending.
The Golden Eagles had quite a few top eight finishes overall for the season.
Wyatt Lloyd placed third in the Men's All-Around and
Wes Shaw took fourth. In individual events, Lloyd was second in Saddle Bronc,
Hank Whitaker was third and Joshua Dobbins was fourth.Â
In Bareback in addition to Allen winning the event,
Darien Johnson was second,
Coy Montgomery took fourth, Hirschi was fifth, Applegarth was sixth, Shaw was seventh and
Jaspur Brower was eighth.Â
CSI had the top three Bull Riders.
Carson Simper and Brower finished tied for second.
In Tie Down Roping,
Aaron Champneys placed fifth and in Steer Wrestling
Dane Haas was third and Shaw was fifth.
At the Utah Valley University Rodeo, the Golden Eagles had several event winners.
Wyatt Lloyd won Saddle Bronc,
Sage Allen won Bareback Riding and
Jaspur Brower won Bull Riding. For the women,
Shelby Higgins won Barrel Racing.
