LUBBOCK, Texas - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team fought to the end but ended up losing to Northwest Florida State Sunday 69-56 in the semifinals of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
It's the second time in their history that the Golden Eagles have made it to the Final Four. Both times under the direction of CSI Head Coach
Randy Rogers.
Both teams were evenly matched in every quarter but the second where Northwest Florida made its run (28-12) and then hung on in the second half to secure the win. CSI actually outscored NW Florida 32-29 in the second half but every time the Golden Eagles tried to close the gap and rally NW Florida answered.Â
Kaylee Headrick led CSI with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Kali Haizlip added 11 points and four rebounds.
Livia Knapp finished with nine points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals and
Alyssa Christensen had nine points, three blocks and two assists.
The Golden Eagles finish their season with an overall record of 31-3 and a tie for third-place at the NJCAA National Tournament.Â
