CSI Softball earns series win with sweep over USUE on Saturday

MOAB, Utah - The 17th-ranked College of Southern Idaho combined two great pitching performances with solid hitting to beat USU Eastern 11-3 and 10-1 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Golden Eagle pitchers Gracie Walters and Markessa Jensen were solid all day.
Walters won game one, giving up three earned runs on nine hits with 11 strikeouts. Jensen got the game two win, going six innings and giving up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts.
In game one CSI pounded 13 hits. Taya Manzanares was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Tessa Hokanson was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Reagan Rex was 2-for-4 and Rachael Brown had a home run and three RBI.
Gracie Tentinger hit her 14th home run of the year in game two, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Kenzee Hale hit a grand slam, Saige Nielsen was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, Brylee Bigelow was 1-for-2 with a double and Rex was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Jensen didn't just shine in the circle but she also was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI at the plate.
The Golden Eagles, now 19-10 overall, host Snow College Monday and Tuesday in a rescheduled SWAC four-game series.
