TWIN FALLS, Idaho - Top-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball faced a hot-shooting Snow College Team in the semifinals of the Region 18 Tournament, falling to the Badgers 84-75 on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles trailed by as much at 17 points in the first half and battled back to within one in the second half but could get no closer.
The Badgers shot close to 50 percent from the 3-point line, making 15-of-31, while CSI managed just 7-of-26 for 27 percent. Snow also knocked down free throws, making 13-of-18 and CSI struggled, hitting on 8-of-14.
Isaiah Moses led the Golden Eagles with 25 points along with six rebounds and four assists.
Nate Meithof added 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Inside
Joel Armotrading was 4-for-4 from the field for eight points, pulled down 13 rebounds and added three blocks.
The only other CSI player in double figures was Rob Whaley with 11 points and five rebounds.Â
The loss is the first handed to the Golden Eagles this season. CSI still has a shot at getting a national tournament berth with one of the at-large bids. That won't be announced for another week.Â
Snow and Salt Lake will play in the Region 18 Championship Friday at 6 p.m.
