TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball cruised to a 14-point first half lead but couldn't withstand a second-half comeback from Yavapai College, losing 87-83 Thursday in the opening game of the Idaho Central Credit Union Invitational.
CSI shot 46 percent from the field and 36 from long distance in the first half but managed just 31 percent from the field and 20 percent from the 3-point line in the second. Yavapai was the opposite. The Roughriders shot just 29 percent from the field in the first half and 29 percent from long range and then 46 percent from the field and 43 percent from the 3-point line.
Three CSI players finished in double-figure scoring led by
Walker Timme's 16.
Jaylon Johnson had 13 and
Kasen Carpenter added 10. Johnson also had six assists and four rebounds. On the boards Carpenter and
Isaac Hawkins finished with nine apiece.
Britton Berrett posted eight points and seven rebounds.
The Golden Eagles will take on Northwest College Friday at 7 p.m.
