SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - In a matchup of two of the top five teams in the country, the Golden Eagles came out on top 86-77 Saturday for the second time this season in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles knocked down free throws, which proved to be the difference. CSI shot 87.5 percent from the line, while Salt Lake was only 66.7 percent.
Isaiah Moses was clutch all night for CSI, making 17-of-20 from the free-throw line and scoring 29 points along with four rebounds and three assists.
Hasan Abdul-Hakim finished with 17 points and Rob Whaley had 15. Nate Meithof led the Golden Eagles on the boards with nine rebounds and added 10 points. Joel Armotrading was solid with an eight points, six rebound performance.
The two teams will meet once again the final game of the regular season but currently CSI holds a two-game lead and the tiebreaker in the standings over Salt Lake.
The Golden Eagles travel to Snow College next Thursday.
