SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team handed top-ranked Salt Lake CC its first Scenic West Athletic Conference loss on Wednesday and did it on the Bruins home court.
CSI trailed 12-8 in the fifth set and 13-9 but battled back to 13-all before going back and forth to the final tally.
The Golden Eagles did it with a bigger block and higher hitting percentage. CSI out-blocked SLCCÂ 11-7 and out-hit SLCCÂ .252 to .218.
CSI's
Valentina Sarti-Cipriani led the Golden Eagles with 15 kills. She added seven digs and four blocks. Middle blocker
Anastasiia Nikolnikova was solid all night, finishing with eight kills and six blocks.
On the outside,
Heavenly Campbell posted 12 kills and
Alizaysha Sopi had eight kills.Â
The Golden Eagles setters ran the offense but also anchored the defense.
Janke Pretorius had 20 assists and 15 digs and
Kaulana Kalulu-Sugai had 27 assists and eight digs.

Miyu Tsurumaki posted 12 digs and two service aces.
CSI, now 15-11 overall and 4-4 in conference play go back on the road next week.
