SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho defeated Arizona Western 25-19, 25-19, 25-22 before falling to Western Nebraska 23-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 Saturday on the final day of the Salt Lake CC Invitational.
The Golden Eagles played four solid set but ran out of gas to close out the day.
Against Arizona Western
Savannah Taosoga led CSI with 15 kills, six digs and three blocks.
Pia Selke added 10 kills and four blocks. Leading the way in the setter position was
Sophia Casarez with 18 assists and 10 digs.
Kerra Trimble led all defensive players with 14 digs.
Miyu Tsurumaki added seven.
Taosoga was again solid in the match against Western Nebraska. She posted a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs along with five blocks.
Heavenly Campbell finished with the second most kills at eight.Â
The top CSI blocker was
Didar Ozcan with six.
Gabby Polynice added three blocks and six kills. Casarez finished with her second double-double of the day, getting 22 assists and 10 digs. Tsurumaki had 11 digs.
The Golden Eagles, now 5-4 overall, hosts Treasure Valley on Wednesday and then the Starr Corporation Invitational Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
