TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team gave up three runs in the top of the first inning and never recovered as Southern Nevada went on to beat the Golden Eagles 10-2 Saturday in the final game of the four-game Scenic West Athletic Conference Series.
CSN only outhit the Golden Eagles 12-11 but four errors by CSI and two home runs by the Coyotes was all they needed.
CSI's
Zach Schmidt (2-for-4) and
Tate Gambill (2-for-2) were the only Golden Eagles with more than one hit. Schmidt had a double and
Tyler Curtis finished with a double.
Taye Newman threw well in the final three innings, giving up just one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts but the damage had been done.Â
CSI, 25-15 overall and 12-8 in conference play, travels to Salt Lake next weekend. With CSI and CSN splitting, Salt Lake moved into first place in the conference standings.
