CSI Women come back to beat USU Eastern in overtime

PRICE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team overcame a seven-point deficit in 45 seconds to tie the game and force overtime, before it beat USU Eastern 80-73 Thursday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup. 
The Golden Eagles trailed 66-59 with 45 seconds left in the game. Jordan Todd started the comeback by scoring on a lapup with 41 seconds to play. Ashlee Strawbridge stole the ball and made a layup and the and-one to pull within two. After CSI held USU Eastern scoreless on its possession, the Golden Eagles pushed the ball down the floor. USUE fouled Karmelah Dean and sent her to the line with 16 seconds left to tie the game. She knocked down both and CSI stopped USUE again to send the game into overtime.
It was all Golden Eagles in overtime, where they outscored the Eagles 14-7 to earn the win.
Kaitlin Burgess led CSI with 21 points and three assists. Dean and Todd each finished with 14 points. Dean added five steals. Strawbridge finished the game with a team-high 11 rebounds and also had nine points and five assists.
CSI, 16-4 overall and 10-3 in conference play, remain neck and neck in the SWAC race with Snow College who is 9-3.
The Golden Eagles host Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 1 p.m. It will be their final home game and sophomore day.
