Henderson, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team run ruled Community Christian 12-0 before falling to College of Southern Nevada 8-0 Thursday in a non-conference tournament hosted by College of Southern Nevada.
The Golden Eagle pitchers combined to give up no earned runs on five hits with 15 strikeouts.
Tanner Clayton threw five of those innings, earning the win. He finished with 11 strikeouts and just one walk.
At the plate,
Noah Hennings was 1-1 with three RBI,
Briggs Newman was 2-3 with three RBI, and
Charlie Tentinger was 1-3 with two RBI.Â
Against Southern Nevada, the Golden Eagles couldn't get their offense going. CSI managed just three hits.
Zach Schmidt,
Braxton Mills and
Jordan Scott each finished with a hit. CSI pitching held CSN to three hits but they combined with a few walks gave the Coyotes plenty of run support for their pitching.
Taye Newman earned the loss, going five innings and giving up seven earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts.
CSI, 8-6 overall, takes on Colorado Northwestern Friday for a single non-conference game.
