TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team battled back and forth all night, but couldn't breakthrough, falling to the 16th-ranked Salt Lake Bruins 25-20, 25-22, 25-23 Wednesday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Two big difference came in the attack and the block. SLCC out-hit CSI .270 to .141 and out-blocked the Golden Eagles 11 to 7.
The Golden Eagles defensive trio combined to have no reception errors and each posted double-digit digs.
Kerra Trimble and
Miyu Tsurumaki each had 13 digs, while
Saryiah Kahakai had 10.
Savannah Taosoga led CSI in hitting percentage, finishing the night with just one attack error. She had 12 kills on 24 attempts for a .458 percentage.
Taylor Burnham posted the most kills with 16.
Pia Selka finished the game with four blocks. Taosoga and
Didar Ozcan each had three.
The Golden Eagles, 8-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference, host #3 USU Eastern next Wednesday at 6 p.m.
