TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 13th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team defeated Colorado Northwestern 81-71 Thursday in the opening night of the Hilex Poly/Physician's Immediate Care Tournament.
Five different players scored in double figures for the Golden Eagles led by
Chris James with 13. He added three assists.
Marcellious Locket finished with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Robert Whaley also had 12 points along with five rebounds.
Chayce Polynice came within one rebound of a double-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three blocks. The final CSI player in double figures was
Jakari Livingston with 10 points.
The Golden Eagles struggled from the free throw line in the first half, making only 56 percent. But bounced back in the second half, making 11-13 (85 percent).
CSI takes on Central Wyoming Friday at 7:30 p.m. for the second night of the tournament.
