TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team pulled away from 23rd-ranked Salt Lake CC in the fourth quarter, beating the Bruins 66-52 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play Saturday.
The Golden Eagles trailed 42-41 to start the fourth quarter but a stingy defense helped them to a 24-11 run and the win.
CSI forced Salt Lake into 36 percent from the field and 0 percent from long range in the fourth quarter.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was
Allie Thayne. The sophomore post had 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Petra Farkas and
Finley Garnett each finished with 12 points. Farkas added eight rebounds and three assists, while Garnet had four rebounds. Freshmen
Taylia Stimpson and
Karmelah Dean also had solid games for CSI. Stimpson posted nine points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Dean had eight points, seven assists and three steals. All but 10 of the team's points were scored by those five players.
CSI, now 17-8 overall, host Snow College Saturday.
