TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team beat non-conference foe Utah State University Club Team 4-1 to open the weekend series and then run ruled the Aggies 12-2 in game two.
The Golden Eagles out-hit USU Club in game one 9-3 and CSI starter Boden MIlls gave up a lone unearned run in the win. The sophomore went the distance, giving up just three hits with eight strikeouts.
At the plate,
Hayden Leatham was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and a double.
Jordan Scott was also 2-for-2 with a triple and
Abe Yagi added a double for CSI's extra basehits.Â
Game two was all CSI. Utah State got on the board first in the top of the first with one run but CSI answered with three in the first, and one in the second. That would be all the Golden Eagles would need but they added eight more in the next three innings for the run rule.
Nolan Walker finished the game 2-for-2 with a triple, home run and three RBI. Leatham was hot again, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
David Hudleson was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI and
Ryke Erickson was 1-for-1.
Jayson Hibbard earned the win on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings and giving up two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Cannon Secrist finished the game, going .2 innings. He gave up one hit and no runs.
CSI, now 25-19 overall, hosts USU Club again Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon. Between games, we will honor the sophomores.
