SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team fell to #10 Salt Lake CC 8-0 and 17-5 Saturday to open the two teams' four game series.
The Golden Eagles struggled at the plate all day, managing just one hit in the opener on a
Kalena Shepherd single.
CSI had a little more offense in game two.
Sherry Boone and
Kylie Baumert each hit solo home runs. Baumert also scored after walking earlier in the game. Shepherd again was solid, going 1-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Hannah Peterson and
Tristin Evans had the only other Golden Eagle hits.
CSI, now 27-15 overall and 18-8 in conference play, will have a chance to even the series on Sunday when the two teams meet again for a doubleheader starting at noon.
