PRICE, Utah – In a season filled with struggles from the three-point line, the CSI Men's Basketball team caught fire when it mattered.
The Golden Eagles shot over 50 percent from long distance in the second half to knock out Salt Lake 84-76 and advance to the Region 18 Championship game.
CSI fell behind by three at half and trailed for much of the second half, but they used to some clutch shooting to stay in the game and eventually pull ahead for the win.
Coleman Sparling and
David Walker led the Golden Eagles with 17 points each. Walker added five rebounds, four assists and five steals.
Roberto Gittens and
Jaxon Edelmayer both scored 11 points.
Khalid Thomas added 10 points.
CSI will face Snow College in the championship game as they look to punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament.
