TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team held on to its first-place position in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings with a 65-54 win over USU Eastern Thursday.
USUE handed CSI one of its only two league loss earlier this year.
CSI held the Eagles of Price to a 30 percent field-goal percentage and a 19 percent 3-point field goal percentage with a stifling defense. The Golden Eagles also out-rebounded USUE 54-50.
Leading the way offensively for CSI was
Malik Porter and
Coreyoun Rushin. Both had 13 points. Rushin added 12 rebounds and two assists, while Porter had nine rebounds, three assists and six blocked shots.
David Walker was the only other Golden Eagle in double figures with 11.
Jaxon Edelmayer finished the night with seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
The Golden Eagles, 21-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play, hosts Salt Lake CC next Thursday.
