TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The thing that has eluded the College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team the past couple of night, helped win them the game Saturday in the Physician's Immediate Care Tournament. The Golden Eagles knocked down 24-of-26 free throws to beat Central Florida 98-93 in overtime.
It looked like CSI would win in regulation after it took an 84-80 lead on two free throws by 
Mike Hood with 26 seconds to play. But Central Florida answered with a layup with 21 seconds on the clock. The Golden Eagles struggled to get the ball in and turned it over, giving Central Florida the ball and a chance to tie or win it. Bryce Beamer scored on a layup, giving CSI the ball with 18 seconds left and a chance to win it. Golden Eagle 
Stevie Smith fired from long range missing and 
Kendall McHugh got the offensive board but ran out of time put a shot up sending the game into overtime.
The teams went back and forth in overtime until CSI took the lead for good at 94-91 on a McHugh 3-pointer at the 1:56 mark. He also made four free throws down the stretch for the final margin to take his night scoring total to 30 points. McHugh did it all for the Golden Eagles Saturday, finishing with 11 rebounds and three assists.
Deng Dut added 19 points, four rebounds and four assists and two steals for CSI. Other Golden Eagles in double-digit scoring included Mike Hodd with 15, 
Stevie Smith with 11 and 
Nehemie Kabeya with 10. Kabeya finished with the double-double, adding 11 rebounds. 
Sawyer Storms scored 7 points and pulled down six rebounds and defensively kept Central Florida at bay, blocking three shots.
CSI, 9-5 overall, plays Central Wyoming Dec. 12 in Riverton, Wyo.
