LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team battled all night with #5 Central Arizona, but a big fourth quarter by the Vaqueros proved to be too much for the Golden Eagles as they fell 63-62 Friday at the Southern Nevada Tournament.
CSI was in control all night, leading 33 minutes and 42 seconds of the game and by as much as 13 points with 6:36 left in the third quarter. But some costly turnovers and cold shooting down the stretch for the Golden Eagles let Central creep back into the game and ultimately win it.
CSI had the ball with 16 seconds left and a chance to tie. The Golden Eagles fired off two errant 3-pointers and scored on a putback at the buzzer by
Jordan Todd for the final tally.
Petra Farkas led CSI with 14 points. She added seven rebounds and five assists.
Taylia Stimpson finished with 11 points and seven rebounds and Todd had eight points and five rebounds.
Karmelah Dean also scored in double figures with 11 points.
Allie Thayne posted six points and four rebounds and
Finley Garnett had nine points.
The Golden Eagles, 11-4 overall, play North Idaho Saturday at noon MST before returning home.
