TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho freshman guard
Deng Dut finished with 11 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles past Shoreline CC 117-65 Friday in the Hilex Poly/Wright Physical Therapy Invitational.
Dut wasn't the only CSI with impressive numbers in the team's home opener.
Nehemie Kabeya posted a double-double with eight points and 12 rebounds and
Sawyer Storms added another double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Other CSI players scoring in double figures included
Kendall McHugh with 15 points,
Mike Hood with 16 points,
Stevie Smith with 13 points,
Spencer Roberts with 11 points and
Coleton Adamson with 10 points.
The Golden Eagles made the extra pass all night as the team finished with 26 assists. Hood had five and Adamson had three.Â
CSI shot 54 percent from the field and 42 percent from long range. They out-rebounded Shoreline 65 to 34.
In the early game, Central Wyoming beat USU Eastern 85-79 in overtime.
The Golden Eagles, 4-3 overall, take on Central Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
