TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team fell to 17th-ranked USU Eastern Thursday 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22 before sweeping Colorado Northwestern CC 25-15, 25-18, 25-18 Saturday.
With the split, the Golden Eagles remain in a tie with Salt Lake for third in the conference standings.
CSI battled with USUE but just couldn't come up with points late in each set to pull out the win.
Payton Spoja and
Alyssa Curtis led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills apiece.
Hannah Karrasch,
Alexis Mareko and
Letarona Mose each added nine. Mose added five blocks, while Spoja collected 13 digs.
Defensively,
Kylie Baumert led CSI with 26 digs.
Sean Garvin posted 22 assists with nine digs.
Against Colorado Northwestern
Taylor Burnham finished with eight kills to lead CSI as well as three service aces.
Marianne Dos Santos also had a solid day with seven kills and two blocks.
Quinn Kellogg had a team-high 16 assists and Kahakai posted 10 digs. Spoja led the Eagles with 12 digs and added three service aces.
CSI returns home to host College of #5 Snow Thursday and the College of Southern Nevada Saturday. The match on Saturday will also be the final home regular season contest where the sophomores will be honored. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
