TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team dominated #8 Salt Lake C 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles out-shined the Bruins in every statistical category, making it hard for Salt Lake to get into system. It started at the service line.
Payton Spoja,
Kylie Baumert and
Alyssa Curtis each had two service aces.
Sean Garvin added one more. The Bruins finished the match with just one ace.
The Golden Eagles also out-blocked Salt Lake 8-7, led by
Letarona Mose's 5 blocks.
Alexis Mareko added three.
Offensively, CSI spread the wealth.
Taylor Burnham finished with a match-high 10 kills. Spoja and
Hannah Karrasch each added seven, Mose had six and Curtis added five. Garvin posted a match-high 17 assists and
Grace Nelson added 15.
Defensively, the Golden Eagles were led by Baumert's 15 digs. Spoja had 11 and Burnham added 10.
CSI moved into a tie with Salt Lake for third with the win in conference play. The Golden Eagles host non-conference foe Treasure Valley Tuesday at 6 p.m.
