LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Golden Eagles swept Scottsdale CC 11-4 and 4-1 Thursday to open their season with two non-conference wins.
CSI had solid performances on the mound in both games.
Cannon Secrist earned the game one win, going five innings and giving up three earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts. Layton Walls came on in relief, throwing two innings and giving up no earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
In game two, Boden Mills got the win on the mound. He pitched six innings, giving up just one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts. Jayson Hibbard earned the save. He threw three innings and gave up no runs on noe hits with five strikeouts.
At the plate, CSI had some solid performances too.
David Hudelson went 1-for-2 with one RBI and a home run. Hayden Leatham was 1-for-2 and Jackson Kohler was 1-for-1 with 2 RBI and a home run.
In game two, Colton Carpenter was 2-for-3 with a double and Hudleson was 1-for-3 with two RBI. Nolan Walker was 1-for-3 with a double as well.
CSI will take on Scottsdale Friday for another doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
