Golden Eagle Men lose heartbreaker at USU Eastern

PRICE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Men's basketball team watch the lead and the win slip away with three seconds to go Saturday when USU Eastern knocked down two free throws to take the 76-75 win over CSI in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles played much of Saturday's matchup without starter Malik Porter who left the game with a foot injury in the first half. Porter who has posted double-doubles the past couple games finished with just two points and one rebound.
N'Keil Nelson stepped up and finished with 20 points and seven rebounds and Coreyoun Rushin added 13 points and eight rebounds but it wasn't enough on a night when scoring was at a premium.
Those were the only two Golden Eagles in double-digit scoring. CSI out-rebounded USU Eastern but coughed up 21 turnovers compared to just 13 for USUE.
CSI, 16-5 overall and 1-2 in SWAC play, hosts Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 5 p.m.
