TWIN FALLS, Idaho - On an emotion-filled evening, the fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team swept Casper College 26-24, 25-14, 25-18 Thursday in the Starr Corporation Invitational.
Prior to the opening serve friends and family paid tribute to the late Heidi Cartisser as the college announced the naming of Heidi Cartisser Court for the volleyball season.
The Golden Eagles started the match a little slow, but rolled in the second two sets.
Airi Miyabe led the way, ending the match with 11 kills, five aces, three digs and three blocks.
Jovana Vukcevic added eight kills and two blocks and
Kylie Gibson had seven kills. Both
E'laisah Young and
Payton Spoja finished the match with four kills and no hitting errors. Young added three blocks.
Sean Garvin posted 32 assists and nine digs for the night, while
Kylie Baumert had 10 digs.
Makayla Bradford added six.
CSI, now 8-1, hosts Northwest College Friday at 7 p.m.
