CSI Baseball finishes third in the nation

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team fell just short Thursday at the NJCAA World Series, falling to San Jacinto 8-6 to end its season as the third-place team in the country.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead to start the game and led 4-1 through the third inning. But San Jacinto put up four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the 5-4 lead.
Hayden Leatham led off the top of the fifth with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error. Nolan Walker followed with an RBI single to tie up the game.
Neither team scored again until San Jacinto added two in the seventh and one in the eighth to go ahead 8-5.
CSI did not go away quietly as Leatham hit a one-out home run in the top of the ninth. But that would be it for the Golden Eagles who ended their season with a 52-12 overall record.
Leatham finished the game 3-for-5 with two RBI, while Walker was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Dylan Steen earned the no decision in his start, going 5.1 innings and giving up five earned run on 11 hits with six strikeouts.
