ST. GEORGE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho fell just short Friday at the NJCAA National Tournament, falling to Seminole State 5-3 and ending the Golden Eagles season.
CSI played from behind most of the game and just could never get over the hump.
Trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the third, CSI scored its first run on a
Hannah Peterson home run. Seminole State answered with a run but the Golden Eagles added another run in the fourth on a
Nicole Renner home run and one in the fifth when Peterson tripled and advance home on an error.
That would be all the scoring CSI would have. Seminole State tacked on one run in the seventh.
The two teams, the Golden Eagles lost two are in the final four teams of the tournament.
CSI finishes its season with a 49-12 overall record and the highest finish its ever had at the national tournament.
