Tiena Afu was close to unstoppable Friday in helping the Golden Eagles to a 75-68 win over Snow College in the semi-finals of the Region 18 Tournament.
The win gives CSI a spot in the region championship Saturday at 5 p.m.
Afu scored 32 points for the Golden Eagles on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from long distance. She was 9-for-9 at the free throw line.
The sophomore wasn't the only player with ice in their veins at the line. As a team, CSI shot 95.2 percent, going 20-of-21. Snow, however, struggled, finishing 13-of-22.
Tied through three quarters, CSI outscored the Badgers 21-14 in the final quarter to pull away.
Mallory Lapoole added 14 points and five rebounds for the Golden Eagles, while
Sydney Clark finished with nine points and five rebounds.Â
CSI needs just one more win to grab a spot in the NJCAAÂ National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas.
