CSI Men too hot to stop in first round of NJCAA National Tournament

HUTCHINSON, Kansas - The College of Southern Idaho shot the ball Monday like a team ready to make a run at the NJCAA National Tournament, beating Snead State 119-82 to advance to the second round.
The Golden Eagles knocked down 17 3-pointers for the game and made 57 percent of their shots from the field.
Six different players scored in double figures, four of them coming off the bench to do that.
Charles Jones Jr. led the offense with 18 points. The sophomore guard added six assists with just one turnover. Khalid Thomas added 15 points. Tommy Burton finished with a double-double scoring 12 points to go with 10 rebounds.
Danya Kingsby had 14 points, Roberto Gittens had 11 and Malik Porter added 10 points along with five rebounds.
Depth is key at the national tournament and the Golden Eagles proved they have a deep bench. Of CSI's 119 points, 77 were scored off the bench.
CSI, the 10th seed in the tournament, will take on seventh-seeded Odessa College Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. MST. A win on Tuesday would put the Golden Eagles into the Elite Eight.
