TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team out-scored Western Wyoming by 31 points in the first half and then cruised to a 110-90 victory in the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout Friday.
The Golden Eagles looked sharp early, shooting 55 percent from the field and holding Western Wyoming to 30 percent.Â
CSI continued to knock down shots in the second half, hitting 51 percent of them. But struggled defensively, allowing the Mustangs to shoot 51 percent as well and outscore the Golden Eagles 60-49.
Thomas Miles led CSI with 20 points.
Roberto Gittens and
Jaxon Edelmayer each added 16 points. Gittens was solid in all areas, adding eight rebounds and three assists.
Other Golden Eagles scoring in double figures included
David Walker with 12,
Malik Porter with 12,
Coleman Sparling with 11 and
N'Keil Nelson with 10. Porter added seven rebounds and Sparling had five assists and three steals.
CSI, now 10-2 overall, host Portland CC Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Earlier Friday, USU Eastern beat Portland CC 102-92 in overtime.
