TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The Golden Eagles struggled to find the basket from long range all night but had no trouble inside, beating Central Wyoming 101-81 Saturday in the Join the Rush Invitational sponsored by Coke/Oasis/Kickback Rewards.
CSI made just 3-of-25 shots from beyond the 3-point line but more than made up for it in other areas. The Golden Eagles out-scored Central Wyoming 74-30 in the paint and 20-5 in transition.
CSI also out-scored the Rustlers 43-28 off the bench. One of the key players for the Golden Eagles coming off the bench was
David Walker who finished the game with 30 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Jaxon Edelmayer was CSI's second-leading scorer with 20 points. He added six rebounds and three assists.
Malik Porter posted a double-double for the second straight night, scoring 14 points along with 13 rebounds.
Roberto Gittens finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
CSI, now 12-3 overall, travel to Treasure Valley Tuesday for a non-conference showdown with Treasure Valley.
