Golden Eagle Men get hot early, cruise to win over USU Eastern

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 14th-ranked College of Southern Idaho's Jake Hendricks drained a 3-pointer in the first 30 seconds of the game and the Golden Eagles poured it on from there, ultimately beating USU Eastern 114-77 Saturday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup.
Hendricks was hot early, scoring 11 points in the first six minutes on 4-of-4 shooting from the field (three of them from beyond the arc). His teammates continued the torrid offensive pace, scoring 63 first-half points on 23-of-43 shooting from the field and 8-of-17 shooting from 3-point range.
Charles Jones Jr. led the Golden Eagles with 24 points and five assists. Roche Grootfaam and Hendricks both finished with a double-double. Grootfaam posted 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Hendricks tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds. Tommy Burton had a solid night in the post, finishing with 14 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
The Golden Eagles, now 19-3 overall and 3-1 in SWAC play, travel to Snow College Thursday.
