SALT LAKE City, Utah - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team bounced back from its first defeat Friday to beat 15th-ranked Northwest College 25-13, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13 and Otero 25-19, 25-16, 25-12 Saturday in the Crystal Inn Invitational.
Shiloh Peleras shined in the Northwest match, finishing with 16 kills and no errors along with nine blocks. Jojo Kruize added 11 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Setter
Morgan Weatherwax finished with 33 assists and
Makayla Bradford and
Esti Wilson each had nine digs.
Against Otero, the Golden Eagles dominated at the net. CSI hit .330 and forced Otero to a .000 hitting percentage. Leading the way for CSI was Airi Miyabe. The freshman outside finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. Weatherwax added 22 assists, while Wilson had 12 digs.
The Golden Eagles return home to host the Starr Corporation Invitational Thursday, Friday and Saturday. CSI takes on Monroe Thursday at 7 p.m. to open the tournament.
