YUMA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Men's basketball team beat Arizona Western 92-89 on the road Saturday to win the district championship and earn a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
The Golden Eagles pushed the lead several times to 10 points but couldn't put the game away. Every time it looked like they would, the Matadors threatened.Â
Up two with seven seconds to play, Danya Kinsgby made 1-of-2 free throws and Arizona Western was unable to answer as time ran out.
Kingsby made 6-of-7 free throws for the game and scored 17 points for the Eagles.
Casdon Jardine tied Kingsby as high scorer, finishing with three 3-pointers.
Both teams were feeling it from long range as each team finished with 11 3-pointers.
CSI, 26-6 overall, will find out Sunday what seed it will be when the national tournament opens March 25th.
