LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball team held a 6-5 lead against Scottsdale in a suspended game Friday and was tied headed into the final inning but saw its chance at a win disappear when the Artichokes hit a 3-run walk-off home run for the 9-6 win. The Golden Eagles finished up their weekend with a 6-2 loss to Scottsdale before heading back home.
CSI outhit the Artichokes in the first game 11-9.
Cody Barkdull led the way, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.
Daniel Nist hit the Eagles first home run of the season.
Timothy Brock earned the loss. He gave up two hits in 3.1 innings with one strikeout and three earned runs.
In the second game, Scottsdale got on the scoreboard in the first inning and never trailed. The Artichokes added two runs in the fourth before CSI scored its first run. Scottsdale added two more in the eighth and one in the ninth. The Golden Eagles scored one run in the eighth but it wasn't enough.
The Artichokes held CSI's hitting in check all game.

Dane Grounds each went 1-for-1 at the plate.
Ryan Beard earned the loss. Brandon Sousy had a solid performance in middle reliefe. Sousy pitched 3 innings, giving up no runs, two hits and posting two strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles travel back down to Nevada next week. CSI plays Cochise and Yavapai on Friday.
