TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The Golden Eagle Men started slow Saturday but started to roll near the end of the first half and ran past Colorado Northwestern CC in the second half to beat the Spartans 88-51.
CSI knocked down some shots from the outside but dominated inside to pull away, scoring 48 points in the paint. CSI held a 38-33 lead at halftime.
The Golden Eagles shot a blistering 66 percent from the field in the second half and 58 percent for the game, while holding CNCC to just 24 percent in the second half and 32 percent for the game.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was
Danya Kingsby with 15 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Darius Alexander and
Charles Jones Jr. each added 14 points and
Tommy Burton scored 13.
CSI's top rebounder was
Mubarak Muhammed with 12.
Deishuan Booker led the Eagles with nine assists. He also had five rebounds.
The Golden Eagles, 22-6 overall and 9-5 in league play, travel to Salt Lake Thursday before hosting USU Eastern Saturday at 5 p.m. to end the regular season.
