HUTCHINSON, Kansas - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball fell short of its 12th NJCAA National Championship, falling to Miami-Dade 25-13, 25-21, 25-18 Saturday in the final.
The Sharks just proved to be too big at the net for the Golden Eagles, outblocking CSI 10-5 and outhitting the Golden Eagles .282 to .098.
Shiloh Peleras and
Airi Miyabi led CSI with 10 kills apiece. Peleras added three blocks and Miyabi had six digs.
Sacha Legros finished with 16 digs, while
Morgan Weatherwax had 31 assists and five digs.
CSI finishes the year 31-4 overall, two if its losses coming at the hands of Miami-Dade.
The Golden Eagles entered the championship match having faced Miami-Dade six previous times in the national championship match, winning every one until Saturday. Still, CSI holds a 7-1 record at nationals against the Sharks.
CSI was seeded third in this year's national championships and finished one better as the runner up.
