SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The four-game series between the College of Southern Idaho Baseball team and Salt Lake CC became a two-game series with both teams only able to get two games in due to bad weather conditions. The Golden Eagles lost to the Bruins 5-4 in game one and then 3-0 in game two that was called in the sixth due to rain.
CSI took the 4-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh in the first game but watched it disappear with two outs when Salt Lake drew a walk and followed it with a single and a 2-RBI triple to win the game.
The Golden Eagles scored all their runs in the fifth.
Jackson Kunz led off the inning with a walk. Then Blake Sanchez and Trevor Lippard singled to load the bases. An error gave CSI two runs before Joey Rossi gave the Golden Eagles their third run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to right field. The final run came on an error by Salt Lake.
In game two, Salt Lake scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth before weather forced the game to be called.
Four CSI pitchers combined to give up just three hits and no earned runs. 
Cole Walters, Jake Boyd and Jackson Kunz finished with CSI's three hits.
The Golden Eagles, now 24-27 overall and 11-25 in SWAC play, open the Region 18 Tournament Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. MST in Henderson, Nev.
