TWIN FALLS - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team needed a walk-off hit to win game one 7-6 before run ruling Colorado Northwestern 10-2 in game two.
The Golden Eagles held a 4-3 lead heading into the seventh inning but watched it disappear on a two-run homer by CNCC. But CSI countered in their half of the inning.
Abby Toller and
Savannah Kirkpatrick led off the inning with hits before CSI loaded the bases on an error by the CNCC shortstop. That's when
Jaici Bishop ripped a shot to right center to score two runs for the walk off win.
Samantha Riesen earned the win, coming in to close out the top of the seventh for the Golden Eagles. Toller led CSI at the plate, going 4-for-4.
In game two, CSI jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked backed.
Skylar Cook finished the day 4-for-4 at the plate.
CheyAnne Dahl was stellar in the circle, giving up just three hits with 10 strikeouts and no earned runs.
CSI improves to 25-12 overall and 16-6 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
