TWIN FALLS - The 8th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team lost just three games all year heading into Thursday's contest with Snow. And two were to the Badgers. This time, the Golden Eagles used a stifling second-half defense to beat Snow 78-59 and guarantee themselves at least a second seed in the Region 18 Tournament next weekend.
CSI held Snow to just 21 second-half points and a 30 percent field goal percentage in the second half. The Golden Eagles out-rebounded the Badgers 52-35, which was another key. Leading the way on the boards were
Kandiss Barber and
Samantha Lubcke. The two combined for 25 rebounds.
Brianna Osorio added seven.
Barber led the Eagles in scoring with 26. Lubcke added 19.
Matti Ventling had the hot hand from the outside, knocking down four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points. She added six assists.
CSI plays #3 Salt Lake CC Saturday for its final regular season game before next week's conference tournament.
