TWIN FALLS - The 3rd-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team beat Southern Nevada 25-16, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22 Saturday.
The Golden Eagles are the only undefeated team in the conference at 7-0. Salt Lake stands in second at 5-2.
Sophomore outside hitter Alyca Wodke led CSI for the second night in a row. She finished with 21 kills and 18 digs one day after her 27 kill, 21 dig performance.
Ivana Trencheva also had a good night, posting 14 kills and five blocks.
The Golden Eagles had little trouble in the first two sets but came out sluggish after the break.
Southern Nevada used a dominant block in the third set to force a fourth set. The Golden Eagles hit .000 in that set while CSN had six blocks.
But CSI rebounded in the fourth set and trailed only at 1-0.
After taking a 20-15 lead, the Golden Eagles struggled to put the match away. After a CSN kill, CSI had two attack errors and a reception error. CSN tied it one-point later on a kill.
Wodke put the Eagles up to stay, scoring three of the next five points on kills for the win.
Luana Thompson led the defense with 19 digs.
Marija Djonovic had 34 assists, three kills and five digs, while Jojo Kruize finished with seven kills and 17 digs.
CSI, 23-4 overall and 7-0 in SWAC play, travels to second-place Salt Lake Friday at 7 p.m.
