SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The second-ranked College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team beat Casper College 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 25-17 before falling to #3 Northwest College 25-22, 25-23, 25-19 Saturday in the second day of the Salt Lake CC Invitational Tournament.
The Golden Eagles rode the performance of middle blocker
Tawnee Luafalemana against Casper. The 6-1 sophomore finished the match with 16 kills and just two errors along with two blocks. Teammate
Alycia Wodke added 15 kills and 19 digs.
Regan Harr had a solid performance as well, posting 34 assists and nine digs.
CSI defeated Northwest last week in five games but Saturday was a different story as the Golden Eagles struggled to put a ball away. For the match, CSI put down only 27 kills with 19 errors in 103 attempts. CSI outblocked Northwest 11 to 6 but it wasn't enough to stop the attack from the Trappers offense. Northwest also dominated at the service line, finishing with eight aces.
No CSI player finished in double digit kills. Wodke led the way with nine and she added 11 digs.
Larissa Dos Santos had seven blocks.
The Golden Eagles, 6-2 overall, host the Starr Corporation Invitational Friday and Saturday.
