TWIN FALLS - The top-ranked College of Southern Idaho volleyball team struggled to string together any runs, ultimately falling to North Idaho 18-25, 27-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-12 Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference battle.
The two teams met earlier in the season with CSI taking the five-set match. This time it was all North Idaho.
Alycia Wodke led the Eagles with 17 kills, adding 10 digs. The only other CSI players in double-digit kills were
Tawnee Luafalemana (15) and
Larissa Dos Santos (15).
Regan Harr finished the match with 50 assists and 15 digs for the double-double and
Luana Thompson added 20 digs for the Golden Eagles.
North Idaho used an attack that consisted of a mixture of tips and hard hits, keeping the Golden Eagles off balance all night. The Cardinals finished the match with the same hitting percentage as CSI - .170 - but got big kills when they needed them. North Idaho also benefitted from 11 service errors by CSI and outblocked the Eagles 12-9.
CSI, now 16-3 overall and 1-1 in SWAC play, travels to Treasure Valley Saturday to play the Chukars in a non-conference match at 6 p.m.
