HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team fell to Western Nevada 9-2 Friday, ending its hopes of winning the Region 18 Tournament and advancing to the district tournament.
The Golden Eagles used four pitchers and struggled to put together a string of hits to score after the first inning.
CSI jumped out to a 2-0 lead before WNC tied it in the bottom of the first. Then both teams went scoreless for three innings. But the Wildcats scored in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth to put the game out of reach.
Dugan Shirer finished the game 2-for-4 and 
Kody Garvin went 1-for-3 with two rbi.
The Golden Eagles end their season with a 31-24 overall record and a 15-17 SWAC record.
