DOUGLAS, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team trailed much of the second half except when it mattered - at the buzzer. The Golden Eagles defeated Cochise 65-63 Saturday with NJCAA National Tournament seeding on the line.
Both teams had already qualified but the loser of this game could be seeded no higher than ninth at the national tournament.
The Golden Eagles outrebounded Cochise 50-24, led by sophomore
Fredrick Edmond's 11 rebounds. He added 24 points to lead all scorers. The only other CSI player in double figures was
Pape Diatta with 13 points to go with eight rebounds.
CSI enters the NJCAA National Tournament with a 31-2 overall record.
